This recent past Friday and Saturday we had a Rotary Meeting. It was really nice. We stayed at the Blue Chip Hotel and Casino in Michigan City. During the meeting I was able to learn even more of what Rotary does. While waiting for the others to arrive on Friday I was able to walk around and see stands of what Rotary does and what they are doing. I was really excited to see the others. Whenever we hang out it gets really fun and I have a blast. At this meeting we did a ceremony. This ceremony was called the flag ceremony. I really enjoyed it because we got to run through the Rotarians tables with a flag of a country that Rotary is with. I had the USA flag. As we were going around the song called "Wavin' Flag" was playing in the background. We were able to eat pizza and chips and the all junk food I wanted since my mum wasn't there. haha. The hotel was very pretty. We did hang out at the pool. Although we weren't told to bring a swimsuit I still had fun and now I know for next time. Can't wait for the July meeting. Also, don' t forget to check out my photos! Also, feel free to share my blog with others.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to go on a field trip to Chinatown, Chicago. I went along with the Chinese class. The trip went very well and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Chinatown did not let me down. For a little while I was able to feel being in a different place. It was a bit weird though.... As we were walking around and looking inside the stores I felt very pressured. The stores were very cramped and tight. The shelves were stuffed, but yet somehow organized, with all sorts of gifts items and treasures. I did want to bring something back as a souvenir but I couldn't really find something I'd enjoy and like. Maybe, the real problem was that I actually wanted to buy everything. I enjoy cute things and many of the items were extremely cute, or kawaii as they say in Japan. There was too much cute items I couldn't choose. Eventually I just decided to wait and see if I'd find something better. I did, but after finding something cute I found something cuter. With all the stores being cramped and stuffed I felt pressured and felt that I HAD to buy something. In the end I bought chopsticks, a bracelet, some tees, and an extremely cute stuffed bear. Chinatown was very beautiful and I wanted to take pictures of it all day long. I really loved the feeling it gave. It seemed as if calm and peace were ubiquitous and filled every corner of the city. The people were very kind. The stores were different but it was a cool different. In Chinese class I was told that the color red is important in China. If i remember correctly the color red brings good luck. While in Chinatown I could see the color red everywhere. It was in the clothes, stores, items, restaurants, and on the architecture. We ate at a restaurant called "JOY YEE NOODLE". I was very surprised. When they handed us our meals the plates were huge. Those at my table looked around and we all wondered how we were going to finish our meals. Many of us took our meals to go because we did not finish them. We were also able to try Thailand ice-cream. The ice-cream was delicious and cute. The day went very fast and I wished we could've stayed longer but I'm okay. I had fun and enjoyed visiting Chinatown. I am very thankful of my Chinese teachers for taking their time out of their day to take us on this field trip. Thank you to all as well who are reading my blogs! Don't forget to check out my pictures! There you can see some images of Chinatown and of other photos that I may post. Thank you!
